HBOT is a medically proven therapy that has been used in the US and abroad for over 50 years. At Indy Vital, we provide a safe medical environment in a new State-Of-The-Art facility located in the northeast side of Indianapolis with easy access from 2 main highways, I-69 and I-465. All of our treatments are directly supervised and delivered by expert personnel in HBOT. At Indy Vital, we invested in top notch comfortable chambers that are individual acrylic cylinders.
At Indy vital we use hyperbaric chambers manufactured by Perry Baromedical. We have two Perry Sigma 34 chambers. Perry has been manufacturing chambers since 1956 and has an outstanding safety record. All chambers are designed, manufactured, tested and installed in accordance with the current regulations of the FDA, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME/PVHO-2) Codes, The Pressure Equipment Directive (CE Mark), Medical Device Directive (CE Mark) and the requirements of the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). Our Sigma 34 Perry chambers are FDA approved and certified to ISO 13485:2003. Also, all of the equipment involved in the treatment we use in HBOT was designed and manufactured in the USA. Safety is a priority at our medical facility. We want to ensure you have a pleasant experience while beginning a healing journey with us.
From the inside of one of our Sigma 34 chambers, the patient has an unblocked visual field of the treatment room provided by the clear acrylic that encloses the pressured chamber. The clear acrylic also allows the patient to be able to see and continuously interact with the staff at all times, while the team and the physician are regularly monitoring the patient during treatment. Our chambers may accommodate patients weighing up to 500 lbs. comfortably. All chambers have a video entertainment system and a superior voice communication system to ensure uninterrupted communication with the patient inside the chamber.
Indy Vital is the only free-standing hyperbaric oxygen therapy facility in Indianapolis. We offer the same kind of HBOT treatment provided by the local hospitals in the community.
- At Indy Vital, we will start your HBOT therapy without delays. Because we are an office-based practice, inherited delays are minimized. At our facility, as soon as you complete your initial assessment with one of our board-certified physicians and payment plan is in place, HBOT is initiated. In contrary, if you choose a hospital facility for your HBOT, delays in starting therapy are very common. Choosing a hospital versus a free-standing facility like ours could potentially delay your start on HBOT.
- Reduced risk of hospital-acquired infections at Indy Vital compared to your local hospital — it is common knowledge in the medical community that the least time the patient spends in a hospital, the lower the chances of contracting a hospital acquired infection. At Indy Vital, we are not a hospital and operate mostly as a doctor’s office facility. With that in mind, your chances of acquiring a severe infection are low while receiving HBOT with us. Avoiding the hospital will nearly eliminate the risk of exposure to all the dangerous bacteria and germs that a local hospital facility may carry.
- At Indy Vital, we have a very comfortable waiting room area, but our goal is for you to stay there for the least time possible. We had design protocols to avoid patients waiting to get on the HBOT chambers. Waiting times are much shorter at Indy Vital. Have you tried to get anything done at the hospital, lab work, for example? It takes hours of waiting time. At Indy Vital, we are extremity organize on scheduling patients, and we recognize your precious time is valuable.
- Lower cost of your HBOT at Indy Vital. Our treatment fees will cost you much less than if you were to use your local hospital facility. In average, a hospital facility would charge you and your insurance 4X higher the amount for HBOT therapy when compared to a satellite facility like ours. Even if your health insurance company pays for most the cost of the treatment, carefully examine your situation since a more expensive treatment at the hospital may represent a higher co-payment to you.
At Indy Vital, the treatment cost varies depending on how your HBOT treatment prescription. The number of hours for each session of HBOT and the frequency of treatments will play an essential role in the final cost of your treatment plan with us. We occasionally offer special discounts and will guide you in finding a financial institution to help you affordably receive HBOT therapy.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, also known as HBOT, has been used for over 50 years and is used in the United States and abroad in the treatment of several conditions including neurological diseases, disorders in the spectrum of autism, chronic fatigue syndrome, radiation therapy injury, chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, and acute-chronic infections. Most recently, there has been an explosion of hospitals across the country, acquiring the HBOT technology to treat severely infected wounds. The problem is that most hospital facilities are limited on a few sets of diagnosis that they treat, usually limiting themselves to conditions that are reimbursed by private insurances and government insurance programs like Medicare and Medicaid. At Indy Vital, we accommodate all patients who need HBOT, regardless of their insurance status. If you don’t have a diagnosis that is not covered by your insurance company, we will work with you by private payment, and if you have difficulties in affording the treatment, we will provide you with financing options.
HBOT is usually provided by having the patient going inside a pressurized chamber where 100% oxygen is delivered for a period of 1 to 3 hours at a time. Often, patients undergo 20 to 40 sessions of treatment. HBOT accelerates cellular renewal, promotes tissue recovery, supports the generation of new blood vessels (a process called angiogenesis), decreases inflammation and edema (swelling), helps the elimination and metabolism of toxins and stimulates the production of collagen. The use of pressurized 100% oxygen also modulates the immune system and helps the human body fight infections.
Neurological diseases are a great indication for HBOT. Conditions such as Alzheimer’s Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Traumatic brain injury, Cerebrovascular accident (stroke), Intractable Migraine headaches Cluster headaches, Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Regional sympathetic dystrophy, Peripheral neuropathy, and sudden deafness Musculoskeletal conditions: rheumatoid arthritis chronic arthritis with inflammation and painful fibromyalgia.
Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), lupus systemic.
