Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for Pain Management
HBOT has demonstrated to have significant effects at the level of central and peripheral nervous systems. At Indy vital we use hyperbaric chambers manufactured by Perry Baromedical. We have two Perry Sigma 34 chambers. Perry has been manufacturing chambers since 1956 and has an outstanding safety record. All chambers are designed, manufactured, tested and installed in accordance with the current regulations of the FDA, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME/PVHO-2) Codes, The Pressure Equipment Directive (CE Mark), Medical Device Directive (CE Mark) and the requirements of the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). Our Sigma 34 Perry chambers are FDA approved and certified to ISO 13485:2003. Also, all of the equipment involved in the treatment we use in HBOT was designed and manufactured in the USA. What is the experience like inside the Sigma 34 Chambers?
From the inside of one of our Sigma 34 chambers, the patient has an unblocked visual field of the treatment room provided by the clear acrylic that encloses the pressured chamber. The clear acrylic also allows the patient to be able to see and continuously interact with the staff at all times, while the team and the physician are regularly monitoring the patient during treatment. Our chambers may accommodate patients weighing up to 500 lbs. comfortably. All chambers have a video entertainment system and a superior voice communication system to ensure uninterrupted communication with the patient inside the chamber.

A recent NIH study published in November 2018, indicated that after daily HBOT, erectile function improved by 88% and 80% of patients reported a positive outcome according to a post treatment GEQ (global efficacy question). In the same study perfusion MRI imaging of the penis was performed before and after HBOT sessions, revealing increase perfusion of the penis by 153%.
